The Homestead: A Girls Trip to the Virginia Mountains

I’m in the midst of exams so the blog will be quiet for a bit, but I figured I’d share a few photos in the meantime from my glorious girls getaway in the states during the holidays.

My friends and I spent one night at the Omni Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia, and had a fabulous time exploring the beautiful resort and scenery. The drive up the mountains on a tiny, winding road without any barriers on the cliff edges (in pitch-black darkness, I should add) was terrifying, but the visit itself was quite relaxing. We spent a chilly night hibernating indoors, showcasing our terrible skills at the billiard table, and really enjoyed the resort’s historical tour guided by THE quintessential southern gentleman the next morning. The spa turned out to be more than we had budgeted for, but there’s always next time, right?

If you’re wondering about the fifth photo below, it’s a model of the Homestead à la gingerbread. The gorgeous waterfall pictured is located right off the highway, about 20 minutes from the resort.

My European adventures will continue at the end of the month: Stay tuned 🙂
